Family hike with the most amazing mountainous backdrop.
We spent our weekend in Kranjska Gora, after the hike from Vrata to Luknja.
Since there is still quite a lot of snow above 2000 m in the Julian alps, we decided to hike to the other side. To another beauty of Karavanke range. Trupejevo poldne.
This is an easy hike that takes about 2 and a half hours from Srednji vrh. There is a little stream on the way and you will enjoy splendid views of Julian Alps. Great for families.
Last half an hour is steep, crisscrossing between mountain pines. The smell is amazing and so are the views of the Alps with Mt. Špik standing like a king right in front of us.
Sunny kid was way in front of us. When we reached the ridge, she was already waving from the top. Another 5 minutes and we were all sitting by the big cross standing on the peak, trying to figure out everything that could be seen from the top.
You can descent on a different path, following the ridge towards the west and then cross through te forest back to the main path.
Easy doable hike, rewarded with fantastic panoramas.
